GIS and Geodata Coordinator at the Property Office

The Property Office manages and develops a unique property portfolio that is important for Stockholm's residents, businesses, and visitors. The property portfolio consists of everything from well-known Stockholm buildings to public spaces for culture and sports, office buildings, fire stations, food markets, castles, farms, and cottages. We also manage nature and outdoor areas outside the city limits. Our office is located in the Technical Committee House at Fleminggatan 4, about a 5-minute walk from the Central Station.

Do you want to help develop how geodata is used in the City of Stockholm? The Property Office is looking for a GIS and Geodata Coordinator with a strong interest in technology who wants to work in a technical environment where solutions are used throughout the organization – with the best interests of Stockholmers in focus.
You will play a key role in the transition to our new geodata platform and contribute to ensuring that our geodata is accurate, accessible, and easy to use in operations.
In your role, you will manage and develop GIS solutions in close collaboration with colleagues and users. You will become part of a technical specialist team within the property department with 17 colleagues. We are a technically skilled unit with high competence, long experience, and a good atmosphere that supports and helps each other. We also have a close collaboration with internal technology managers, customer managers, and operations staff. Your role
As a GIS and Geodata Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and further developing the Property Office's instance of the City of Stockholm's geodata platform, which is based on Esri's ArcGIS platform.
In this role, you will work on developing business-adapted GIS solutions where you will use knowledge of system integrations and programming. You will collaborate with the central management organization of the City Management Office as well as with other management organizations in the technical administrations within the City of Stockholm.
The work also includes problem-solving and internal support related to the geodata platform. Therefore, it is important that you are service-oriented and can prioritize as needed to support the operations when support issues arise.
Main tasks
- prioritize and direct the development of GIS applications
- develop and adapt GIS applications
- manage and further develop existing solutions
- work with information management of geodata
- handle users and provide internal support
- conduct training for users
- contribute to developing how the organization uses the geodata platform together with other roles in the organization.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- completed higher education in GIS, system development with a GIS focus, or equivalent relevant education
- experience with Esri's ArcGIS platform ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS web applications
- understanding of system development and working methods in an organization
- good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have:
- experience in system management of the ArcGIS platform
- experience in database management in ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
- knowledge of SQL
- experience with FME Form and FME Flow
- experience with Python, ArcPy, or Arcade for scripting and automation within GIS
- understanding of web development with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
- experience with version control and documentation systems
- experience working in the public sector.
