Åstorp Municipality is now looking for swimming instructors for a summer job – a job where the sun shines, water is your workplace, and children are your biggest fans.

About the job

As a swimming instructor at Åstorp Municipality, you will be part of the Leisure Unit, our dynamic and joyful department that focuses on creating fun and developing activities for our residents. The work takes place at our beautiful outdoor swimming pool in Kvidinge, and you will be the hero's hero by teaching children to float, dive, and master that classic flutter kick.

Responsibilities

• Teach children and youth swimming, both individually and in groups.
• Inspire and motivate participants – make swimming school the highlight of the summer!
• Keep an eye on safety, transforming into a lifeguard star if needed.
• Take care of the kiosk.
• Come up with creative exercises that combine usefulness with fun in the water.
• Provide feedback and encouragement that helps participants achieve personal records.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need to:

• Have an approved swimming instructor education.
• Have previous experience in the profession.
• Have a positive and outgoing personality – you bring joy and energy to the pool.
• Be able to communicate clearly and engage children and youth.
• Swim better than a fish (almost).
• Preferably have experience teaching or working with children – but remember, we love enthusiasm just as much as experience!

The employment period runs from June 12 to August 16. The work is divided between swimming school instruction and regular tasks at the outdoor swimming pool based on a rolling schedule. The swimming school targets children aged 6–11 years and is conducted in two sessions during the summer:

• Session 1: Week 25–27
• Session 2: Week 31–33

Each session includes a total of 14 teaching sessions scheduled on weekdays (Monday to Friday). During the weeks when the swimming school is not in session, as well as during other scheduled working hours, you will work as a lifeguard and kiosk assistant at the outdoor swimming pool.
