Höör and Hörby municipalities together have over 33,000 inhabitants and are located in the heart of Skåne, on the border between the plains and forested areas. Proximity to all of Skåne, good communication opportunities, varied nature, and a rich cultural and recreational life have made Höör and Hörby sought-after municipalities to live and work in.

The municipalities of Höör and Hörby collaborate in fire and rescue services through the joint organization, Räddningstjänsten Skånemitt.

Together with other authorities, organizations, and residents, we work for a safer and more secure everyday life – by preventing accidents, strengthening preparedness, and being there when it really matters.

We are in an exciting development phase and are now strengthening the organization in the accident prevention area. With us, you will work in an organization with short decision-making paths, strong local anchoring, and a clear societal mission. The position is placed within Räddningstjänsten Skånemitt with the fire chief as your immediate supervisor.

In the near future, a new fire station in Hörby will also be completed – a clear step in our continued investment in the development and future-proofing of the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will have a broad and responsible assignment where you make a real difference. You contribute to strengthening the protection of people, the environment, and essential societal values every day.

In the role, you will work with regulatory enforcement in the accident prevention area. You are responsible for investigating, assessing, and following up on cases in a legally secure and structured manner. Documentation, decision-making materials, and clear justifications are a central part of the assignment. The work involves ongoing contacts with operators, property owners, other authorities, and the public.

During a week, there is a wide range of cases. It can involve inspections in a preschool, permit cases according to LBE, or more complex assessments at larger facilities according to Chapter 2, Section 4 of the LSO. The assignment is varied and requires both analytical ability and practical judgment.

You will work in a team with experienced colleagues where you plan, implement, and follow up on cases together. We see supervision and case management as teamwork, and joint assessments are a natural part of quality assurance.

We are also facing exciting development issues, not least related to new regulations within LBE. This means you will have the opportunity to help develop working methods and applications as the regulations change.

The position entails a broad assignment within the preventive area and, depending on your background and interests, the opportunity to also act as an incident commander. This gives you a holistic view of the organization from risk assessment and regulatory enforcement to operational understanding (fire and rescue services and prevention).

The job responsibilities include, among others:

  • Supervision according to LSO
  • Supervision and permit assessment according to LBE
  • Processing of planning and building permit referrals and participation in consultations according to PBL
  • Opinions in cases regarding serving permits according to the Alcohol Act
  • Opinions in cases regarding public gatherings according to the Order Act

QUALIFICATIONS

You need to have (formal requirements):

  • Post-secondary education in the accident prevention area, at least SMO and ToF A, fire engineer with RUB or equivalent.

We also prefer that you have (meritorious):

  • Experience from a similar position.
  • Post-secondary education in the fire service area, LK2 or equivalent.

You actively contribute to planning, implementation, and follow-up of cases and other tasks and value joint assessments and experience sharing within the team.

You have good analytical skills and can systematically collect, structure, and evaluate information. You make well-founded and legally secure assessments based on applicable legislation and guidelines.

You have a professional and trust-building approach in your contact with operators and other stakeholders. You can combine service and clarity with the regulatory role and its requirements.

You have at least a B driver's license, good computer skills, and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

An employment with Räddningstjänsten Skånemitt may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For some of our positions placed in a security class, Swedish citizenship is also required.

Your employment includes military placement in the fire service with general service obligation, which means you are obliged to serve in the event of heightened readiness or war.

OTHER

The position will be filled provided that the necessary political decisions are made and that it does not need to be allocated for internal use.

We apply ongoing selection, which means we can call for interviews before the application period has expired.

As an employee of Höör Municipality, you have a wellness allowance as an employment benefit, and we also apply smoke-free working hours.

In preparation for the recruitment process, we have made decisions regarding recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore kindly ask for no contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
