Within the Care and Welfare Administration, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Exempt from the full-time norm are personal assistants.

Tunåsen
Tunåsen is a special accommodation for the elderly in the central part of the city. The accommodation has a total of 47 apartments, distributed over three departments. There is a dementia department with 11 apartments and two care departments with 18 apartments each.
Glimmervägen
Glimmervägen is a special accommodation for the elderly located in Eriksberg and contains 50 apartments distributed over three departments, one of which is adapted for people with dementia.
Both operations offer a safe and homely environment where we work together to provide our users with high-quality care.
Your Mission
As a nursing assistant with us, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you make a real difference for our users every day. You provide personal care and adjust the support according to each individual's needs to create security, participation, and good quality of life. Your competence, engagement, and approach are crucial for our users to feel seen, secure, and well cared for.
As a night-working nursing assistant, you are responsible for usual care tasks at night, such as personal hygiene, turning, night meals, laundry, and cleaning. You also perform tasks delegated by licensed staff, documentation according to the Social Services Act, respond to alarms, and ensure that users receive the support they need during the night. The work requires a secure, independent working method and the ability to create calm and security in the operation.
This is a pure night position, which means that you work all your shifts at night.
Your Background
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a trained nursing assistant, with a protected professional title according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements
- Has experience working with delegated tasks in care and welfare. The requirement is experience in medication and insulin delegation, but other delegations may be added depending on needs.
- Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- Has experience using digital tools in work
It is also meritorious if you have experience working in elderly care, dementia care, and working nights.
As a person, you are self-sufficient and take responsibility for your tasks. You plan and structure your work effectively and drive processes forward with good quality. You are calm, stable, and maintain control even in stressful or unexpected situations, with the ability to focus on what is most important. Furthermore, you are flexible and adapt quickly when conditions change, and you see opportunities where others may see obstacles. You also have a strong ability to collaborate, showing attentiveness, communicating clearly, and contributing to a positive and constructive collaboration with colleagues and others you meet in your work.

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant is protected. To use the title nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have nursing assistant training but lack proof or certificate, you can, during a transition period, receive the title care assistant.
In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
An employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a military placement.
