Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing in line with the municipality's development with more residents, more housing, and a larger offering. We are always on the lookout for new competencies - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
Are you a nurse looking for a new challenge with a lot of freedom and responsibility? Then we have a job for you within Health and Medical Care Team 6, where you can work with individuals with mental or intellectual disabilities - be part of developing our healthcare function in Sweden's ninth largest municipality!
Welcome to Us
The Health and Medical Care function (HS) in Jönköping Municipality consists of 13 interdisciplinary HS Teams, as well as a Home Team.
HS Team 6 is part of the function with a catchment area of Jönköping Municipality, and this team works with the municipality's Support for Function. This includes the municipality's psychiatric team (KPT) and the team for intellectual disabilities (TIF).
We are now looking for new colleagues intending to work within TIF and also an expansion within KPT, where you as a nurse will be responsible for a number of residences with a certain number of patients, but with close collaboration with others. The workgroup is based at the team location near Asecs shopping center and consists of nurses, specialist nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and unit administrators.
Your New Job
As a nurse in Team 6, you will have patient responsibility for health and medical care interventions within special accommodations for individuals with intellectual disabilities, including service and group homes as well as daily activities. You will perform both planned and acute interventions for patients of all ages in close collaboration with primary and inpatient care. The care needs vary, which means that your tasks range from common interventions to more advanced care - for example, assessment of mental health, medication evaluation, sampling, wound care, dialysis, infusions, and management of tracheostomy, CVK/venous ports, and drainage.
You will be responsible for independent medical assessments, treatments, and actions. We work health-promoting by identifying the patient's resources and abilities, preventing health risks, and motivating lifestyle changes. Documentation, counseling (acute and planned), and educational efforts are central parts of the work to ensure safe and qualitative care. You will collaborate internally and externally to achieve continuity, efficiency, quality, and patient safety.
Your Competence
- You are a licensed nurse, and if you have specialist training in psychiatry or as a district nurse, we view this as meritorious.
- We prefer that you have at least one year of experience as a nurse or a couple of years of experience as a nursing assistant.
- Strongly meritorious with experience working with the target group, mental and/or intellectual disabilities.
- You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as many patients have difficulties with information exchange, requiring good and creative communication skills.
- Good physical mobility is required as the work takes place in home environments, which means you need to be able to adapt your work approach based on the circumstances.
- You have good computer skills.
- A B driver's license is a requirement as a car is used in the service.
We value that you are flexible, proactive, and positive towards change work - your ideas and experiences will be an important part of the team's development. You take responsibility for planning and structuring your work effectively and have good prioritization skills. You collaborate well with others, are attentive, and communicate clearly and constructively, even in situations where conditions may change rapidly. Above all, you have a genuine interest in working with people. We place great importance on personal suitability for the position!
We Offer You
When you start with us, we will agree on a suitable introduction program tailored to your experiences and qualifications. You will also have the opportunity to receive guidance from experienced colleagues from other teams. We work with a close trust-based leadership, which means you have the freedom to independently plan and structure your workday. As an employee of Jönköping Municipality, you will also receive a secure employment and access to wellness benefits, paid vacation in the first year of employment, and a generous flexible working hours agreement.
