Job Description
As a test engineer in active safety systems for vehicles, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the verification and validation of advanced driver assistance features. The role combines practical testing in vehicles with analysis, documentation, and close collaboration with system, software, and hardware teams. You contribute to ensuring that the features meet safety and performance requirements in real traffic environments.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and conduct vehicle tests on both test tracks and public roads, including scenario simulations and regression runs.
- Configure and use measurement and logging tools to collect data from CAN, sensors, and other system components.
- Analyze test data, identify deviations and root causes, and document results and recommendations.
- Collaborate with developers, feature owners, and other testers to define test cases, priorities, and action plans.
- Develop and maintain test scripts, automated test cases, and tools for efficient verification (e.g., Python-based tools).
- Participate in requirements reviews and contribute testability perspectives early in the design phase.
- Maintain and improve test processes, checklists, and documentation in tools like Jira and Confluence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of testing experience in the automotive industry, preferably focusing on active safety systems or ADAS.
- Experience with Vector tools, such as CANalyzer or CANoe, as well as experience with logging and diagnostic tools for vehicles.
- Good understanding of vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and sensors such as radar, camera, and LiDAR.
- Experience in data analysis and scripting, such as Python, for processing test data and automation.
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Swedish B driver's license and documented driving experience.
- Structured, meticulous, and problem-solving oriented with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent analysis tools.
- Test track driving license, such as T2 or other safety training for test tracks.
- Driving license category C/CE or experience in driving heavy vehicles for testing purposes.
- Experience with HIL simulations and test rigs for vehicle control systems.
- Certifications in testing or vehicle-related standards are a plus.
