We are looking for you who are passionate about cooking and want to develop your skills in the kitchen and service for our summer camp. We offer on-site training, so formal experience is not a requirement – the most important thing is that you have an interest in cooking, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and want to contribute to the development of our operations. We appreciate that you are proactive, structured, and thrive in an environment where children and young people are our main guests.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to learn everything from planning and preparation to serving and kitchen organization, while also developing your pedagogical skills in interacting with our participants.

Working at the camp means that during the summer you will live on-site at the camp in Värmland, together with your colleagues – about 5–6 people per room. You need to be able to be away from home for at least six weeks during the summer.

About the company

Utepedagogik Sverige AB runs summer camps at several locations for children and young people aged 9-16 years, focusing on adventure and outdoor education. The cornerstones of Utepedagogik Sverige AB's pedagogical camp operations are: safety, quality, security, and community, as well as having trained adults with a broad competence as good role models. Job responsibilities

As a kitchen assistant, you will work in both the kitchen and dining room to deliver meals to camp participants and leaders. You will rotate between different work areas such as hot and cold kitchens and the dining room, and we will train you on-site, so you do not need to have formal training in kitchen work as long as you have the drive to learn.

The kitchen at the camp is the heart of our operations, and as an employee in the kitchen, your tasks will vary between cooking, serving, and dishwashing. Together with a team of 6–7 people, you will be responsible for delivering breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our communal dining room to camp participants and leaders at our three camp locations. Additionally, you will also receive deliveries, ensure that the camps have snacks and evening meals, and prepare food for activities such as hiking/trips.

The work is done under the guidance of a kitchen manager. You should also adhere to quality and hygiene requirements and be able to engage with camp participants in a pedagogical and inspiring way, as we want participants to discover the different aspects of cooking and possibly spark an understanding and future interest.

Preferred experience

· Experience working in a kitchen/café

· Preferred if you have knowledge and previous experience with special diets

· Preferred if you have knowledge of cooking in outdoor environments

Employment conditions

The position is full-time. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the camp in Värmland from April 30 to May 3, and June 6 to 11. During the summer, you need to be able to work and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period from June 12 to August 16.
