The role of school psychologist with us

In this role, you contribute to a culture of sharing where we collectively take responsibility, inspire, collaborate, and support each other.

Conversations are the psychologist's most important tool in all supportive work, including assessments. The license entails independent professional responsibility regarding, for example, the choice of intervention, method, and work instruments.

You will work with preventive and promoting student health work together with the school's student health teams. The teams include school leaders, counselors, school nurses, special educators, and psychologists. Working in teams ensures that the need for early interventions can be identified, and the school psychologist can be involved at an early stage to:

• offer consultation and advice to staff and management
• provide advice and support conversations to children, adolescents, and guardians
• use psychological assessment methodology as a basis for adapting and designing appropriate support measures
• conduct psychological assessments
• facilitate learning by, when necessary, participating in placements in other school forms and engaging in networking with other activities outside of school to create the best possible conditions for the school's students
• participate in planning interventions during crises

In this role, you will work across three schools: Åsaskolan, Åsa Gårdsskola, and Frillesåsskolan. The assignment at Åsa schools comprises 60%, and the assignment at Frillesåsskolan comprises 40%. Tasks in each assignment will be shaped in consultation between the principal, school psychologist, and EHT teams based on the schools' current needs.

Your profile

You are interested in developmental, neuro-, group, and organizational psychology. As a person, you are accommodating in your approach and attentive to your surroundings. In dialogue with guardians, you are both empathetic and clear. You create new contacts as well as maintain your current work relationships. You take responsibility and drive your work forward, delivering results and prioritizing your work effectively. You see opportunities in changes, take initiatives, and come up with new approaches to work-related issues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed psychologist
• has a B driver's license

It is an advantage if you have experience in:

• working as a psychologist in schools, preschools, child health care, child psychiatry, or child habilitation
• previous work experience in schools, preschools, and other types of child-related activities

About us

In Kungsbacka municipality, a group of psychologists works within preschools, primary schools, and high schools. The group also includes a Psychologically Responsible Leader (PLA). The psychologist group meets regularly and works collectively on routines and business development. The psychologists also have joint supervision and the opportunity to participate in professional development in dialogue with the principal. As a new psychologist in the municipality, you will receive a mentor who knows the municipality and the assignment well.
