Operations Engineer for Technical and Property Management

The Technical and Property Management Department is responsible for the municipality's premises, properties, and technical infrastructure – from planning new construction projects to operation, maintenance, and development. We work with water and sewage, cleaning services, land services, transport, and vehicle services. Our goal is to build and manage sustainably and climate-smart to ensure a safe and functioning everyday life for the residents of Botkyrka. We are about 300 employees who, in our various roles, work with solutions based on citizens' needs and the municipality's common goals.
The Position and Responsibilities
We are looking for an operations engineer for the Technical and Property Management Department.
In this role, you will work with the operation and development of technical installations in the municipality's properties. You will be responsible for ensuring that the systems function as they should and contribute to the properties having stable and energy-efficient operations. In your work, you will monitor how the systems perform, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to the development of the properties' technical solutions.
You will collaborate closely with the operations organization and work together with the energy engineer on issues related to energy use and optimization of the properties' technical systems. Much of the work will take place in critical community properties, such as sports halls, swimming pools, and other municipal facilities where operations need to function without interruption.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor operation and function in the properties' technical installations
- Work with the operation and optimization of systems for heating, ventilation, cooling, electricity, and water
- Plan and follow up on preventive maintenance
- Analyze energy consumption and work on energy efficiency
- Order and follow up on work from contractors
- Support operations staff in troubleshooting and technical problems.
In this role, you will have ongoing contact with property managers, contractors, and operations in the municipality's premises. You will participate in operational meetings and contribute to developing methods that improve property operations. The work involves significant personal responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues in the operations organization. On-call duty may be included in the position.

The property portfolio includes schools, sports halls, and other facilities where it is important that operations function without interruption.

Who You Are
You have a degree from a university or college in energy, property technology, or another technical field that the employer deems relevant. You also have experience in the operation and monitoring of technical systems in properties.

- Experience with property technical systems.
- Experience with technical installations such as heating, ventilation, cooling, or control systems.
- Experience with digital operation or monitoring systems.
- Driver's license (B).
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in critical community properties, such as swimming pools, sports facilities, or larger municipal facilities.
- Experience with energy optimization or monitoring of energy consumption.
- Experience with control and monitoring systems for properties.
- Experience in safety or fire protection work.
As an operations engineer, you need to work systematically to plan, monitor, and develop the operation of technical systems in the properties. You analyze operational data, identify deviations, and contribute to measures that improve function, operational reliability, and energy efficiency. Therefore, it is important that you have analytical skills and can see connections between different technical installations and how they affect each other.
The work involves close collaboration with operations staff, contractors, and other functions within the department. For the work to function well, you need to communicate clearly about technical issues and create a common understanding of what needs to be done. You take responsibility for your tasks, follow up on actions, and contribute to the development of operations in a long-term and sustainable manner.
