We are now looking for a communicator for the community development unit.

With us, you will play an important role in developing and coordinating the municipality's communication – both internally and externally.

About the workplace

The position is located in the community development unit, which is part of the municipal executive office. The unit consists of several strategists, developers, and administrators who coordinate and develop municipality-wide processes in areas such as local supply, crisis and preparedness, accessibility, crime prevention, digitalization, budget and follow-up, business development, and communication. About the position

As a communicator in Norberg municipality, you have an important role in developing and coordinating the municipality's communication. The role combines strategic work with operational implementation.

In a smaller municipality like Norberg, this means you work closely with both operations and political leadership, and have the opportunity to contribute to how important decisions and development issues are communicated to residents and other target groups.

You support managers and operations in communication matters and contribute to ensuring that the municipality's decisions, development efforts, and community information reach the right target groups in a clear and accessible manner. You also work closely with the municipality's communicator in ongoing communication efforts.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

  • planning and implementing communication efforts related to the municipality's operations and development work
  • contributing to the development of the municipality's digital communication channels, such as the website and social media
  • producing and tailoring texts and other communication materials for target groups
  • contributing to crisis communication and community information efforts
  • participating in the municipality's place development work

The position is varied and involves many points of contact. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues in the organization.

Qualifications and competencies

  • Relevant university degree in communication, media and communication studies, journalism, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience in communication work in a politically governed organization, preferably municipal operations.
  • Very good ability to write and tailor texts for different target groups
  • Experience with digital communication channels, such as websites and social media

As a person, you are trustworthy and good at building relationships and collaborating with others. You need to be confident in your role as a communicator to take initiative, support leaders, and drive the communication assignment forward, with the ability to plan and prioritize with good judgment.

It is an advantage if you have experience in crisis communication and communication work in change or development processes. We also view experience with web publishing systems (CMS) and knowledge in graphic production, such as Adobe InDesign or similar tools, positively.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application period has ended. A probationary period may apply. The position as a communicator is security classified, which means that a successful security clearance according to the Security Protection Act is a prerequisite for employment.
