Your starting point is the recycling center Sörmossen, located in the upper part of Bohus, easily accessible by car or bus followed by a short walk through the forest. Surrounded by fresh air and nature, you may sometimes be accompanied by curious animals – a work environment that combines meaningful environmental work with delightful nature experiences. At the recycling center Sörmossen, four environmental technicians and a supervisor work.

Job Responsibilities

As an environmental technician, you will work both at the recycling center Sörmossen and at our neighborhood recycling centers and stations throughout the municipality, where you play an important role in the work for a sustainable future. You will guide visitors to sort correctly, develop and improve routines, and ensure that the facilities clearly signal environmental awareness – so that every visitor is inspired to do the right thing for the environment.

The work is varied, challenging, and constantly evolving. Together with your colleagues, you create effective, safe, and sustainable solutions at the facilities every day. You will also work practically with containers using a wheel loader, drive a forklift and light truck, and handle hazardous waste.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in service work who enjoys meeting people. You are confident, social, and service-oriented, with a focus on safety and the environment. In your interactions with visitors, you communicate clearly and can inform and guide respectfully.

You are responsible, engaged, and have a genuine interest in reuse and sustainability. As a person, you are a team player who contributes to a safe, efficient, and sustainable work environment and works together with colleagues towards common goals.

A B driver's license is required for the position. It is advantageous if you also have a forklift license, wheel loader license, ADR 1.3 (hazardous goods), and previous experience in recycling work.

Working hours are scheduled on weekdays with both day and evening shifts, as well as day shifts on weekends.
