We are now looking for a church musician who wants to help develop the musical life in the western area of Västerås parish. About the Position

In this role, you will be responsible for music in services and church ceremonies. You will lead choirs for both children and adults, hold musical devotions, and arrange concerts during the year's holidays. You will also have the opportunity, together with your dedicated colleagues, to shape and develop the role and work based on your skills and motivations as well as the needs you see around you.

The position is mainly located in a rural area consisting of three parishes: Barkarö, Dingtuna-Lillhärad, and Rytterne – each with its unique character. The area is characterized by a pioneering spirit and offers a fantastic environment and unbeatable surroundings.

Västerås parish is one of the largest in the country, which provides good opportunities to work both in a smaller, local context and in parish-wide work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a church musician degree at least at level C
• Is proficient in organ and piano with confidence and musical skill
• Has experience in parish activities
• Has experience leading choirs
• Has basic computer skills
• Has a B driver's license and access to a car
• Can express themselves well in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you:

• Can play multiple instruments
• Have experience with music projects, such as arranging concerts or similar
• Have experience collaborating with external actors such as schools and/or associations

Finally, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You see opportunities in that conditions can change quickly – both organizationally and in practical operations – and adjust your working methods accordingly.

In Conclusion

The position entails a permanent employment with a 100% workload where day, evening, and weekend work is included.

In connection with a possible interview, you will also be asked to audition for the position.
