About the position

As a technical writer, you will be responsible for gathering, processing, and delivering technical information for our client's products and systems. You will be involved in the documentation process and work closely with systems engineers, trainers, and other specialists to ensure that the documentation is accurate, clear, and useful.

Responsibilities

The role involves ensuring high-quality technical documentation that supports maintenance and operational processes for complex systems.

  • Gather technical information from systems engineers, coordinators, and trainers.
  • Write and update technical documentation in XML format, including maintenance and troubleshooting instructions.
  • Review, translate, and proofread documentation in both Swedish and English.
  • Create and update technical illustrations.
  • Administer and update document revisions.
  • Participate in client meetings to ensure documentation requirements are met.
  • Support the team with proofreading colleagues' documents.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has relevant education in technical documentation, information design, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Alternatively, has equivalent work experience, for example as a maintenance technician.
  • Has experience in technical work within automation, railways, aviation, or similar industries.
  • Has experience as a technical writer, information designer, or communicator.
  • Has excellent skills in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form.

It is a plus if you have

  • Practical experience in maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with railway vehicles.
  • Knowledge of Arbortext XML, Content Management Systems (CMS), and scripting.
  • Understanding of how customers use documentation in the field.
  • Ability to adapt documentation to real operational and maintenance processes.
  • Understanding and ability to implement customer-driven validation and acceptance criteria.
