Behind every construction project lies a multitude of material choices that collectively determine the building's environmental impact. The choice of products, the content of materials, and how they meet high environmental standards play a crucial role in the sustainable properties of the future. At Nya Karolinska Solna, the requirements are particularly high – and this is where you come in. As an environmental coordinator at Coor, you will have the opportunity, at the start of your career, to delve into sustainable construction, material issues, and environmental requirements while making a real difference in one of Sweden's most advanced hospitals.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

As an environmental coordinator at Coor at Nya Karolinska Solna, your task is to ensure that the materials and components used in construction projects and property installations meet the high standards set within the framework of the Miljöbyggnad Guld certification.

You will work closely with project managers and suppliers, becoming an important part of translating environmental requirements into concrete decisions in the projects. The role is both analytical and communicative, where you serve as a support in matters related to material choices and environmental assessments.

The work is varied and developing. You will continuously familiarize yourself with new materials, components, and technical solutions – making the role particularly exciting for you who are curious and want to build a deep understanding of how sustainable construction works in practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you will among other things:

  • Work with construction product assessments and ensure that products meet the environmental requirements in the projects
  • Review materials and components used in construction and installation projects
  • Ensure that documentation and materials for environmental assessments are available
  • Engage in dialogue with suppliers and manufacturers to gather material specifications and technical information
  • Support project teams in matters related to environmental requirements and sustainable material choices
  • Follow up to ensure that projects meet the requirements for Miljöbyggnad Guld
  • Contribute to the structure and improvement of work methods related to environmental and material issues

You will quickly gain a good understanding of how construction and installation projects work in practice and develop in an area that is becoming increasingly important in the industry.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:
  • Have a post-secondary education in construction, environment, or similar
  • Are a recent graduate or at the beginning of your career
  • Have a strong interest in environmental and sustainability issues
  • Have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English

As a person, you are structured and meticulous, but also communicative and thrive in dialogue with different parties. You are proactive and have the ability to keep many issues running simultaneously. To succeed in the role, you are curious, analytical, and have a genuine commitment to environmental issues within construction and property.
