The Department for Housing and Income Support is one of eight departments at the Swedish Pensions Agency with approximately 230 employees distributed across 8 locations from Luleå in the north to Halmstad in the south.

The department is responsible for the administration and management of housing supplements and elderly support, which includes case handling, decision-making, and contacts with individuals. The assignment also includes ensuring that incorrect payments are not made and combating benefit fraud.

The Swedish Pensions Agency is undergoing a major transformation journey where we want to strengthen our employees and our organization to better meet our customers where they are.

We are now looking for a group manager for Halmstad.

Job Description

Together with other group managers, you have overall responsibility for the operations within the unit and are part of a management team where you contribute to the operational and tactical work. Based on a clear employer role, you have personnel, results, and follow-up responsibility for approximately 20 employees in Halmstad and lead the operational work. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that the operations are conducted with high quality, service, efficiency, and cost awareness. Most of our meetings are held digitally, but physical meetings also take place, which means that travel is required in the position. You will lead change and clearly communicate the vision, goals, and values to your employees.

As a manager at the Swedish Pensions Agency, you are also responsible for driving an active work environment and health effort and contributing to creating a developing workplace. Furthermore, you are responsible for creating conditions through dialogue for employees to be able and willing to take responsibility for their assignments, their goals, and their professional development. You have high integrity, a good overall perspective, and a notably good communication ability. Since the position involves working in a management team and collaborating with other departments within the agency, it is important that you have very good collaboration skills.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant academic degree as assessed by the employer
  • Documented several years of managerial experience from the public sector
  • Experience in leading a process-driven operation with large case flows
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

Meritorious:

Current experience and knowledge of the housing supplement benefit

Good to know

The employment is permanent full-time with start date according to agreement. The place of employment is Halmstad. We apply a six-month probationary period.

The employment may be placed in a security class.
