Operations Manager for Care and Welfare Falkenberg

Welcome to Falkenberg Municipality – a municipality with the vision 'We grow for a sustainable future' where we work together to create a place where people thrive, develop, and feel secure in their daily lives. To achieve our vision, the municipality has three overarching goals. One of them is education and care of good quality, which means that our care should be inclusive, accessible, and characterized by warmth, dignity, and the individual's needs.

The Social Administration is one of the municipality's largest administrations with approximately 1,500 permanent employees and a broad responsibility for the central functions of welfare. The administration is organized into two operational areas: the Department of Social Work (AFSA) and Care and Welfare Falkenberg (VOF).

Care and Welfare Falkenberg is responsible for the municipality's individually assessed care and welfare interventions aimed at the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as municipal health and medical care. The operation is facing continued development in the transition to a new social services act and the implementation of good and close care.

We are now looking for a brave, strategic, and development-oriented operations manager who wants to lead and further develop Care and Welfare Falkenberg based on good quality in care, clear leadership, and a focus on the individual at the center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Department Head, you have overall responsibility for the operations that provide support, care, and health and medical care to the elderly and people with disabilities. Your task is to ensure that the interventions are individualized, legally secure, and of good quality, in accordance with legislation, national guidelines, and political goals.

You lead the operations through four subordinate area managers responsible for:

  • Health and medical care
  • Municipal home care
  • Special housing for the elderly
  • Functional support (BMSS, daily activities, housing support, and social psychiatry)

As Department Head, you have collective responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment as well as for quality, follow-up, and development. You develop strategies, goals, and measures for the department and are responsible for union collaboration at the departmental level.

You report directly to the Administration Manager and are part of the management team of the Social Administration. There, you contribute to a cohesive and balanced development of the entire administration, with a holistic perspective and the municipality's best interests in focus.

Central development areas in the assignment are: Competence supply, transition to a new social services act, and development of good and close care.

Demographic changes and increased needs mean that working methods need to be developed towards a more health-promoting, preventive, and person-centered support, with an increased ability to provide interventions at home and use digital technology. The Social Administration has come a long way in this work; your role will be to drive the development further, in close collaboration with AFSA, other municipalities in Halland, the region, and internal and external partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to welfare issues and clear strategic leadership.

  • University degree as a social worker, social care degree, or other academic education that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Experience in management and leadership at a strategic level
  • You have experience in indirect leadership and being a manager of managers.
  • Leadership training is an advantage
  • Several years of experience in municipal care and welfare operations
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization
  • You have good knowledge of legislation in the social field
  • We would like you to have experience in authority exercise

As a leader, you are clear, secure, and collaborative. You have the ability to create participation, communicate well, and lead with both structure and courage. You have a strategic approach, good overall perspective, and the ability to translate goals and strategies into concrete operational development. You believe in developing leadership, see workplace issues and collaboration as important areas, and are a role model for your employees.

We offer you a meaningful and developing managerial assignment in a municipality with high ambitions for welfare. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and lead important societal functions together with competent and engaged colleagues.
