We are looking for a communicative and proactive team leader. With us, you will work at Västerbotten's largest tourist destination and contribute to bringing our cultural heritage to life and making it accessible. The application deadline is March 30, 2026.
Gammliasummer
Summer at the open-air museum Gammlia means open and staffed farms and days filled with programs such as try-it-out activities, music, baking, and horse-drawn carriage rides. This is made possible thanks to nine seasonal museum hosts and collaboration with entrepreneurs. The season runs for our visitors from June 15 to August 16.
Job Responsibilities
The Västerbotten Museum is looking for a team leader for the open-air museum Gammlia. We offer varied tasks and an environment where your thoughts and ideas can have a significant impact. Your main responsibilities include leading the nine museum hosts and liaising with partners. You will lead the morning meeting for the museum hosts and handle sick leave notifications. You will also be responsible for planning, editing, and publishing content on our social media, such as Instagram and Facebook, for example, sharing what is happening at Gammlia today and answering questions.
As a team leader, you will be the contact person for our entrepreneurs such as bakers and musicians. The museum's communicators, museum hosts working in information/shop, and others in the Gammlia unit are other roles you will collaborate with regularly.
Introduction
During the first days, you will receive an introduction to your specific tasks, after which you will participate in the museum hosts' introduction. The museum hosts start on June 9 and begin their employment with a week of introduction. It is a packed and educational week that includes both theoretical and practical elements to ensure they feel secure in their role as museum hosts.
Your Competence

To succeed and thrive in the role, it is important that you take initiative, start activities, and achieve results. Finally, you are a confident and stable person who can adapt to the situation.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with a degree in relevant subjects, such as museology, ethnology, or history. Furthermore, you have knowledge of and experience with social media, especially Instagram.
The role requires good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form as we have both Swedish and international visitors. Some tasks are performed using a computer or phone, so you need to have basic IT skills.
Meritorious
We would like you to have work experience from similar environments such as other open-air museums or cultural heritage tourist destinations. Experience in team leadership is also an advantage.

Conditions
This is a scheduled seasonal employment.
The employment period lasts from June 1 to August 17.
During weeks 25-33, you are scheduled Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
As this position is a summer job, we expect you to work the entire period.
Hourly wage according to agreement.
If you are selected for employment, we will require a criminal record extract as the position involves working with children.
