Work in the Park Department at Piteå Municipality

The Park Department works to create attractive outdoor environments in all seasons. We are a small department with 12 permanent employees, which means everyone plays a key role in our team. From May to September, over 30 seasonal employees join us. If you want to work with our parks, playgrounds, and green spaces and contribute to developing Sweden's best place to live, enjoy being outdoors, and work with wonderful colleagues, then this is a great opportunity for a rewarding career.

Your Responsibilities

In winter, you will work with snow removal and sanding, ice rinks on land, the ice rink at Nördfjärden, waste management, maintenance, winter decorations, winter lighting, etc. This season includes recurring on-call duties for snow removal.

During the summer season, you will primarily work with planting and new installations in parks as well as assembling and establishing playgrounds with everything that entails. Supporting the Park Department's operations group as needed is also part of your duties. Machine operation is included.

You Are

As a person, you are positive, driven in your work, and have excellent teamwork skills. You enjoy working outdoors year-round, want to take responsibility, and can easily adapt to changing conditions. You are attentive and can change your perspective and approach.

Qualifications

For the position, you are required to:

• Have a B driver's license for manual transmission
• Be a trained landscape gardener or have equivalent education.
• Be able to report to the workplace within 60 minutes every third week for on-call duty
• Have good physical condition and be used to physical work
• Have work experience operating a wheel loader in a professional capacity

Preferred qualifications for the position include:

• Extensive experience as a landscape gardener in public environments
• Extensive experience in snow removal and other tasks with a wheel loader
• Experience with other construction machinery
• Experience using leveling instruments
• C license
• BE license
• Experience with simpler construction jobs
