Community Building Administration

The Community Building Administration aims to make, maintain, manage, and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure, and transport with a forward-looking approach. The administration's work is characterized by collaboration, a holistic view, and efficient resource utilization. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainably viable from ecological, social, and economic perspectives.

The Community Building Administration consists of the following areas of activity: Physical planning, Water, sewage and waste, Streets, parks and forests, and Properties, Environment and construction. The Project and Investment unit drives and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.

As a Seasonal Park Worker, You Make a Difference!

The Park Unit works with the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's parks, green areas, nearby forests, and playgrounds. We want to create attractive outdoor environments for citizens and visitors. In your work, you contribute to green, well-maintained outdoor environments where people thrive and socialize.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a park worker, you will work with the care and maintenance of parks and green areas. We perform green area maintenance such as lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, care and watering of summer flowers, perennials, shrubs, and trees. We maintain playgrounds, pick up litter, empty trash cans, etc.

We work outdoors in all weather conditions, and the work can be physically demanding at times.

You will work in a team where you plan and are responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed and reported back. We offer a varied job and would like you to contribute to the development of the operation.

Supervision of summer youth and interns is included in the position.

Working hours: 7 AM - 4 PM Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may occur.

The employment period is 3-5 months, with a start date in May-June depending on where the position is located.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education who is interested in park work. You are a responsible person with good teamwork skills who can work both independently and together with others. You can follow instructions and work efficiently and in an organized manner. The jobs you perform are well-planned, of the right quality, and completed on time. You have a good sense of service and communicate well both within your work group and with people you meet in the city. You have good physical fitness and appreciate physical work.

Requirements

• High school education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Basic knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You must be able to understand oral and written work and safety instructions.
• Driver's license for manual transmission (B)

Meritorious

• Documented work experience in park/green area maintenance, landscaping, etc.
• Relevant education
• Plant knowledge
• Experience operating and handling machinery used in park work, preferably with relevant professional certifications.

OTHER

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
