Community Planning Administration

The Community Planning Administration aims to make, maintain, manage, and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure, and transport with a forward-thinking approach. The administration's work is characterized by collaboration, a holistic view, and efficient resource utilization. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainable in the long term from ecological, social, and economic perspectives.

The Community Planning Administration consists of the following operational areas: Physical planning, Water, sewage and waste, Streets, parks and forests, and Properties, Environment and construction. The Project and Investment unit drives and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Forest Worker, you make a difference! The Park Unit works with the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's parks, green areas, urban forests, and playgrounds. We want to create attractive outdoor environments for citizens and visitors. In your work, you contribute to green, well-maintained outdoor environments where people thrive and socialize.

The Park Unit is part of the Technical Department, Community Planning Administration. The administration aims to make, maintain, manage, and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure, and transport with a forward-thinking approach. The administration's work is characterized by collaboration, a holistic view, and efficient resource utilization. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainable in the long term from ecological, social, and economic perspectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone with solid experience and interest in forest management and trees. The work consists of both administrative and practical tasks. Your main responsibility is to manage the urban forest, but you will also participate in other tasks during the winter. In the urban forest, you plan measures, supervise seasonal staff, participate in practical work, follow up and report completed measures in GIS maps. You perform tree felling and arrange for the removal of timber and clearing of storage areas. In many cases, we work in tight spaces directly adjacent to private residences/plots, so you need to be experienced in complex tree felling. You inspect trees and decide on any measures based on our guidelines. Through this, you will have many contacts with citizens. The Park Unit also carries out thinning, felling, and underbrush clearing in production forests on assignment.

We work outdoors in all weather conditions, and the practical work is physically demanding. We offer a varied job and would like you to contribute to the development of the operations.

You need to be self-driven, engaged, and enjoy taking responsibility.

Working hours are 07:00-16:00, Mon-Fri

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone interested in working with the urban forest and contributing to its aesthetic, biological, and recreational values. You have many years of experience in clearing, tree felling, and other forestry work. You are a responsible person who can work both independently and with others. You can plan and work effectively and systematically based on guidelines. You have a good sense of service and communicate well both within your workgroup and with citizens. You have good physical fitness and appreciate physically demanding work. You enjoy working both administratively and practically.

You will handle digital tools such as the Office suite and other important applications for the operations, so your computer skills should be good. You have a background as a forest worker or similar and have many years of work experience in the industry. You have both the willingness and competence to take on your own areas of responsibility and experience in leading others.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities where we are looking for someone with drive and the ability to work independently. You collaborate well with your workgroup and other colleagues and contribute to a good working climate.

Requirements

• High school education
• Several years of experience in forest management
• Experience in leadership, preferably within park or forest management
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license for manual transmission
• Brushcutter certification RA and RB
• Chainsaw certification AB

Meritorious

• Forestry education
• Chainsaw certification C, E
• Cherry picker training
• Driver's license BE
• Documented training in tree care

OTHER

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security review with a background check will then be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
