Our Operations
Surgery Department 70C is one of four departments within the area of surgery/urology. We provide highly specialized surgical care with a focus on transplantation surgery, liver/pancreas, and esophagus/stomach surgery. The majority of our operations are planned surgeries, but we also conduct a certain amount of emergency and sub-acute care with direct admissions to the department from our collaborating regions.
The department also includes the transplantation clinic, where our patients come for investigations and follow-ups before and after transplantation. The clinic is partially staffed by personnel from the department. The department has 24 beds staffed by a large and dedicated team of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, managers, dietitians, physiotherapists, and pharmacists.
We care for many complex patient groups, where continuous education of staff is necessary. To ensure quality and continuity in this work, we are now looking for an educational nurse.
Your Mission
As an educational nurse, you report directly to the department manager with the task of planning, implementing, and following up on training for all our employees.
You will combine the role of educational responsible with clinical work on the ward. In the clinical part of your duties, you will care for postoperative patients, which includes both practical tasks such as administering medications, infusions, injections, and managing pain pumps, as well as more administrative tasks such as patient education and identifying care needs and risk areas. Together with our experienced and competent nursing assistants, you will plan and lead the work with the patient in focus.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed nurse with several years of professional experience. You have a strong interest in spreading knowledge and educating others. A good sense of order and the ability to structure and plan your work independently is a given for the position. An interest in and ability to work in a team is highly valued. Previous experience in surgical care is meritorious.
Your Competence
We are looking for someone who is independent and self-driven, with the courage to act based on your own convictions and a clear sense of responsibility for your tasks. You drive your processes forward in a structured way and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively within given time frames. At the same time, you are flexible and adaptable, see opportunities in changes, and handle new conditions with ease. You also have good collaboration skills, are attentive in meetings with others, and contribute to a positive work environment by handling any challenges and conflicts constructively.
We Offer
The position is a permanent full-time employment in your basic profession. Salary and start date according to agreement. The role as an educational responsible nurse is divided into 50% work as an educational responsible nurse combined with 50% clinical work on the ward. The working hours for the discharge assignment are scheduled during the day, and in the clinical time, there are occasional weekend shifts, evenings, and nights. During the summer period, only clinical duties apply, and no educational shifts.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
