Job Responsibilities

As a pipe layer, your main task within the department is to perform work primarily focused on the operation and maintenance of existing water and sewage lines with associated facilities/devices. There may also be new installations of water and sewage lines with associated devices. Certain tasks within the department focusing on the operation and maintenance of existing roads with associated facilities are also included in the position.

In the role of pipe layer, you will have significant responsibility to follow applicable routines and laws to maintain a safe working environment, and as a colleague, contribute to a good work environment where we together promote job satisfaction and health. We constantly want to develop and improve our municipality, so you will have an important role in actively participating in our ongoing development work.

On-call duty is included in the position.

About the Workplace

The Community Building Administration has a collective responsibility for all property, urban environment, and water and sewage issues. This responsibility includes both operation and maintenance as well as the implementation of investments resulting from the municipality's development activities.

The position of Pipe Layer/Constructor is placed in the technical and construction unit responsible for municipal construction work, technical installations, as well as workshop and storage. We are responsible for the municipality's public water and sewage facilities, which involves delivering drinking water and managing and treating wastewater from approximately 23,000 subscribers. The department is also responsible for draining stormwater from streets, public places, and properties in the municipality's urban areas.

The construction part currently consists of ten employees, and we now need to strengthen our organization with a Pipe Layer/Constructor.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you have:

completed education in construction and civil engineering, at least at the high school level or equivalent
education and/or a couple of years of practical experience working as a water and sewage technician with pipe laying work focused on operation, maintenance, and new installations
computer skills for information search, reporting, etc.
proficiency in the Swedish language in both speech and writing
a valid driver's license and good driving experience

It is an advantage if you have:

additional education in the industry
certified pipe layer
hygiene training – Swedish Water
training in butt and electrofusion welding of PE pipes
work on roads APV 1.1-2.2
