We offer you

10 weeks of paid vocational training Monday to Friday, but evenings and weekends may also occur. It consists of varied theoretical and practical exercises combined with self-study. If you pass the training, we offer you a fixed-term employment at 100% as a tram driver during the summer.

And if we enjoy working together after the summer, there is also the possibility of extension.

AB Stockholms Spårvägar is rooted in a long and solid tram tradition in Stockholm. With the highest safety, care, accuracy, and expertise, we operate both tram and railway traffic in Stockholm. We have four local offices: Djurgården, Lidingö, Ulvsunda, and Neglinge.

• Lidingöbanan: Ropsten – Gåshaga Brygga
• Spårväg City: T-Centralen – Waldemarsudde
• Nockebybanan: Bromma's historic tram line from 1912, Alvik – Nockeby
• Tvärbanan, Sickla – Solna station and Bromma airport – Alviks strand
• Saltsjöbanan, a railway with roots from 1893, Saltsjö-Järla - Saltsjöbaden/Solsidan.

About the position

As a tram driver with us, you will meet many of Stockholm's most satisfied travelers. We take pride in our operations and wearing our uniform. You will be an important ambassador and our face to the public.

We operate traffic almost around the clock, which means that working hours are variable and that you work every other weekend. You always start and end your workday in or near our depots.

Being a tram driver means that you work alone in the driver's cabin but also that you are part of a team with traffic management, workshop, and other employees. Here, the relationship between colleagues and managers is close.

About you

To succeed in the role, you have:

• High school education or other education that the employer deems equivalent
• Good ability to read, understand, and express yourself in spoken and written technical Swedish, as it is a prerequisite for completing the training and being able to understand traffic and vehicle instructions
• Swedish driver's license with at least category B and completed probationary period
• Good health condition with normal vision and hearing according to the Transport Agency's regulations (TSFS 2019:113).

Experience from roles with safety work is an advantage.

As a person, you are responsible, have a high awareness of safety, and are accustomed to following rules. You have a good ability to remain calm even when unexpected situations arise in traffic. You have good judgment and experience in assessing situations and adapting your actions accordingly with good results.

You enjoy collaborating with your colleagues and having contact with travelers. Since traffic has a high intensity with routes and scheduling, it can change quickly due to various circumstances. Your ability to adapt quickly, see solutions, and maintain a good mood is crucial.

You must pass a suitability test, driving test, and the medical requirements set by the Transport Agency. The mandatory health examination includes vision, hearing, diabetes, drug, and alcohol tests as well as color vision. A background check is also conducted before employment.
