Signal Protection Chief for 3rd Helicopter Squadron

About the unit:

The 3rd Helicopter Squadron operates at Blekinge Air Force Wing in Ronneby. We are one of four squadrons and belong to the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. At the squadron in Ronneby, we have about 200 employees. Our unit is housed in modern facilities where the entire squadron is gathered in a common building. Our development and growth provide many opportunities for you as an employee. The squadron's mission is primarily focused on maritime operations, which means close cooperation with the Navy.

About the position:

The signal protection service is part of the Armed Forces' security service, and the position involves functional responsibility but no personnel responsibility. We accept both civilian and military (SO 6-7) applicants for the position. Required training that is missing will be handled through internal training within the Armed Forces. In the role of Signal Protection Chief, tasks include:

  • Protection of information and communication
  • Configuration of equipment
  • Administration of equipment and cryptographic keys
  • Training responsibility within the signal protection area

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
  • Interest in technology
  • Good physical ability
  • Driver's license (manual transmission)

Meritorious

  • General experience in IT and network security (civil or military experience)
  • Experience in training others and speaking in front of groups
  • Completed military service or basic soldier training
  • Experience in command/communication functions within the Armed Forces
  • Training as a system operator, signal protection chief, or signal protection instructor
  • Experience with the Armed Forces' cryptographic systems

We are looking for someone with a high security awareness, a strong sense of responsibility, and good organizational skills. You are driven and take initiative to advance your areas of responsibility. You easily convert thoughts into action and find success in completing your tasks. You are receptive to orders and are a pronounced team player. To thrive at the 3rd Helicopter Squadron, it is important that you are flexible and can support beyond your regular job duties.

A good physical ability is fundamental to our operations, and great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The position is a permanent employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period for those who are not already employed within the Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces' Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and maritime operational focus that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.

Helicopter support is in demand by many. For example, for personnel, equipment, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing therefore often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.

Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide a variation in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airfield and Linköping Garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
