Your Responsibilities

As a Cattle Buyer at Scan Sweden AB, you will be responsible for ensuring an efficient and sustainable purchasing process for cattle for our production. You will work with cattle, maintain good relationships with existing suppliers, and identify new potential partners through phone calls, personal contacts, and producer meetings.

You will be an important support to our suppliers, and your work will contribute to ensuring a reliable and high-quality supply of animals to our operations, which in turn contributes to the development of our suppliers. You will handle negotiations with suppliers, monitor the market, and analyze prices to ensure competitive agreements. Your area of responsibility is Kronoberg County.

Your Main Responsibilities Include

• Purchasing and mediating slaughter animals,
• Long-term relationship building with suppliers,
• Proactively seeking potential suppliers,
• Being an ambassador for Scan Sweden AB and our animal welfare,
• Representing Scan Sweden AB at fairs and similar events.

In this position, you will work from your home location, and since you will be working across a larger geographical area, travel is a natural part of the job. You will report to the Cattle Purchasing Manager.

What You Need to Succeed and Thrive

You have:

• A strong interest in cattle production
• Good knowledge and understanding of animals
• Good skills in MS Office
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with customers/suppliers
• A valid driver's license (B)
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is also advantageous if you have:

• Several years of experience in purchasing, preferably from animal production
• Knowledge of market trends and pricing
• Strong negotiation skills

You are:

• Proactive, goal-oriented, and enjoy working independently in a proactive manner.
• A relationship builder with strong communication skills, making it easy for you to establish both internal and external contacts.
• Analytical with the ability to solve problems effectively to move forward in your work and assess quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Structured and enjoy creating a structure for your work to prioritize between different tasks.
• A person who enjoys collaborating with others.
