We are looking for a construction manager for Trafikverket within BAS Road and utility matters in the Central Region. The assignment includes construction management and follow-up of road maintenance as well as handling utility matters in Dalarna and Gävleborg counties. The role entails broad technical responsibility with a focus on quality, safety, and coordination between contractors and clients.
The role involves ensuring that work is carried out according to applicable requirements, conducting technical assessments on-site, and addressing questions that arise during the projects. The work is independent and varied, where you alternate between fieldwork, documentation, and dialogue with various stakeholders. You are expected to make well-founded decisions within the framework of the assignment and contribute to driving the work forward in a structured and professional manner.
The tasks include, among others:
- Follow up and control BAS road contracts in the field and ensure delivery according to agreements
- Prepare and design documentation for smaller additional works and participate in the preparation of tender documents
- Participate in and contribute to kick-off meetings, construction meetings, inspections, and work preparations
- Manage deviations, contract adjustments, and follow-up of samples
- Coordinate with other technical areas and adjacent contracts
- Conduct road inspections and inventories and plan and prioritize maintenance measures
- Ensure that facility systems are kept updated (e.g., PMSbl and NVDB)
- Represent Trafikverket in dialogue with contractors and within investment projects, including warranty issues
Mandatory requirements
All requirements must be clearly stated in the CV, including periods, assignments, scope, and responsibilities.
- Previously worked as a construction manager or equivalent position within road maintenance, including road construction and function, with good results according to contracts and subsequent performance. This means the following: − At least completed one (1) assignment of larger scope for road maintenance − The assignment must have been completed within the last five-year period. − By larger scope, it is meant that the construction manager must have worked at least 40% of full-time per year over a period of three (3) years.
- Experience in theory and practice annually over the last five (5) years regarding methods and equipment for general road maintenance and drainage works, as well as what is allowed storage and landfill including intermediate storage according to the Environmental Code and regulations and other legal frameworks and provisions including permits.
- Possess good theoretical and practical knowledge and experience regarding requirements for laying utilities in road areas.
- Experience and routine of performing computer work almost every day or every week over the last five (5) years, and thus have experience working in Microsoft Office with the programs Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be able to express oneself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
- Hold a valid B driver's license and be able to provide a company car.
Equipment
You as a consultant are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle used in the assignment is adapted and equipped for fieldwork. This means that the car must be suitably equipped with the measuring and working equipment required for the execution of the assignment and meet current vehicle requirements.
The consultant must provide:
- Company car/benefit car that meets the specified requirements
- Necessary measuring and examination equipment for work in the road environment
- Work computer
- Equipment and software for measurement and inventory according to NVDB and SWEREF99
- Personal protective equipment for work in road areas
Training
If the following training and certifications have not been completed by the start of the assignment, they must be completed no later than five (5) months after the contract start. The consultant is responsible for meeting the requirements and being able to present certificates upon request.
- Approved training and authorization for BAS-P/U.
- Certification at least according to step 2 according to TDOK 2018:0371 “APV Competence in contracted operations
- Contract and Design Services”. Completed training in contract law including ABT06
- Completed Introduction Course in Asphalt Pavements (Asphalt School) or equivalent knowledge through demonstrated experience.
Assignment information
The contract is valid for 24 months from the date the contract comes into effect. The preliminary start date is March 2026.
Option: The client has the unilateral right to extend the contract by up to three (3) periods of 12 months each.
Scope: Estimated workload for the assignment is 80-100% of annual working time, approximately 1,700 hours.
The stationing location for resource consultants is any office in Borlänge, Mora, or Gävle. The assignment requires physical presence at Trafikverket's office as well as fieldwork throughout the entire workload.
