Vattenfall Hydropower is responsible for Vattenfall's approximately 90 hydropower plants and around 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 580 employees in Sweden and Finland, with our headquarters in Luleå. The renewable electricity production from hydropower is a central prerequisite for a climate-smart and fossil-free society, where we play an important role as enablers for the sustainable energy systems of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25 percent of Sweden's total electricity needs. To ensure high availability in our production, we continuously work to develop our methods and take advantage of digital opportunities. We are now looking for you who want to contribute to this important work.

We are strengthening the dam safety department and are looking for an additional dam technical expert (DS)

The department is responsible for the management and monitoring of dam safety work within Vattenfall Hydropower. We analyze the safety of our dam facilities, set design requirements, compile necessary measures, initiate projects, and decide on operational limitations when needed. Today, the department consists of seventeen colleagues located in various locations across Sweden.

As a dam technical expert, you keep yourself well-informed about dam safety within your area of responsibility and the business as a whole. You contribute your expertise to strengthen dam safety within both Vattenfall and society.

  • Propose measures and establish action plans for increased dam safety
  • Prepare decision-making materials for feasibility studies and projects
  • Review and act as an internal client in projects
  • Report from operations and contribute to the development of working methods.

We offer a responsible and varied job in a company that invests in long-term development. You will have significant autonomy and good opportunities to influence how we manage and develop our facilities, at a time when hydropower is a very important part of Sweden's electricity mix.

The position involves travel and the opportunity to work with magnificent hydropower facilities and knowledgeable colleagues across the country. Welcome to us!

Requirements

You have at least five years of experience working with dam safety and possess practical skills that contribute to strengthening the department's overall expertise. It is advantageous if you have RIDAS training and experience in hydropower.

As a person, you work in a structured and goal-oriented manner, have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and are used to making well-founded decisions. You have good analytical skills and a trustworthy, collaborative working style.

You communicate clearly and professionally in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing. The position involves travel and requires a B driver's license. The position is security classified.
