Job Duties

The position involves responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's drinking water pipeline network. The work combines practical fieldwork and technical problem-solving with a clear connection to societal benefit.

The work includes:

• Leak detection and localization of water leaks
• Connections and disconnections
• Rounds of pressure boosting stations and reservoirs
• Corrective maintenance and handling of operational disturbances
• Inspection and takeover of new facilities
• Documentation in operational systems

On-call duty according to a fixed schedule is included in the position.

The work is performed independently in the field as well as in close collaboration with colleagues and contractors.

The municipality is experiencing growth with continued expansion of water infrastructure. The position contributes to strengthening preventive maintenance and developing working methods within the pipeline group.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Training as an operations technician or other relevant technical education, alternatively documented experience that the employer deems equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience in practical work within technical operations, water and sewage, pipe networks, or equivalent technical infrastructure
• Basic understanding of water and sewage systems and pipeline networks
• Good computer skills and ability to work in digital systems
• Ability to document work in a structured manner
• Driver's license B

Meritorious

• 5 years or more of experience in the operation and maintenance of drinking water pipeline networks
• Experience in systematic leak detection
• Experience in municipal water and sewage operations
• Training through Swedish Water
• Experience working in GIS or pipeline documentation systems
• Understanding of pressure zones and hydraulics in distribution networks
