Summer Job at the Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden is a place where the diversity of the plant world is at the center. It is a scientific institution with botanical research and horticultural development work at a high international level. Throughout the garden's hundred-year history, plants from all over the world have found their place in our living collections, now grown in beautiful environments throughout the garden, in the arboretum, and in the greenhouses.

Every year, our 600,000 visitors experience something extraordinary, which we hope will spark interest in the diversity of the plant world and the important conservation work associated with it. The educational activities are aimed at both schools and educational actors in the form of lessons and training, as well as to the public through exhibitions, tours, and events.

The Botanical Garden is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe, covering around 75 hectares and featuring 20,000 unique plants from more than 130 countries. Description

Job Responsibilities

The Technical, Service, and Arboretum unit is responsible for the maintenance of the garden's green and gravel areas, carpentry/painting, maintenance of irrigation systems, large-scale composting processes, as well as maintenance of machinery and part of the garden's property management. As a summer worker in Technical & Service, you will assist with practical tasks in the garden, such as:

• basic property and gardening work
• maintenance and service of tools, vehicles, and equipment
• various tasks together with the team

This year, we will also begin moving into our new greenhouses, which will involve a lot of work with moving in and installations.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who:

• enjoys practical work and is not afraid to get their hands dirty
• is organized, responsible, and flexible
• is at least 18 years old
• has an AM driver's license (B driver's license is an advantage)
• experience in technical and service work is a plus

It is a plus if you have an interest in gardening, technology, or service – but the most important thing is that you are engaged and willing to learn.

Conditions

• Temporary position from June to August
• Full-time
• Working hours according to schedule
