Hotel Vänerport

Hotel Vänerport operates two hotels in central Mariestad: Vänerport Lakefront by the harbor and Vänerport Stadshotell at Nya torget. We also have a sister company that manages rental properties where you will be responsible for property maintenance. We are an expanding business with many balls in the air and numerous properties to keep track of. Many exciting things happen with us, and during your workday, you will be part of our journey.

We are now looking for someone who wants to join our team. If you are a person with energy and a desire for a very varied everyday life with a mix of different types of tasks, you are the one we are looking for. We seek someone who is a fixer and a "can-do" person who loves to have a solution for everything.

Selection of Job Responsibilities

Hotel Operations:

• Troubleshooting and repairs in hotel rooms, e.g., heating, lighting/bulbs, simple electrical measures, bathrooms, doors/locks, ventilation, and general functionality
• Repair of furnishings and decor minor repairs of furniture, fittings, brackets, moldings, etc.
• Moving and handling of furniture and items during rearrangements, events, renovations, or room changes
• Installation/assembly of new functions and “features” in rooms or common areas (e.g., shelves, hooks, TV mounts, equipment, minor upgrades)
• Ongoing maintenance and preventive checks to reduce downtime

Property Management:

• Troubleshooting and repair of appliances (simple measures, functionality tests, parts replacement as needed)
• Check and troubleshoot heating issues, ventilation, and temperature deviations
• Troubleshooting and actions related to water/sewage
• Supervision and minor repairs in common areas

Outdoor Environment and Seasonal Work

• Lawn mowing and simple gardening
• Snow removal and ice prevention
• Supervision of outdoor lighting, walkways, and entrances

• Has good communication skills and understands basic customer service professionalism
• Can handle a sometimes fast-paced environment

Requirements

As the work is varied and requires the ability to see solutions to various problems, we are looking for someone with previous experience in property maintenance or similar craft work.

Basic competence and understanding of:

• Plumbing systems
• Ventilation systems
• Heating systems
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Appliances
• Outdoor maintenance
• Carpentry & Painting

Swedish is a requirement, English is highly meritorious.

The employment is permanent and full-time.
