Close leadership, change, sustainable workplace

As a unit manager, you are the leader who is closest to the employees and the operations. You are responsible for leading and driving the daily work based on the department's mission and goals, where the state’s value base permeates your work. Through your leadership, you convey clear expectations, follow up on goals, and provide your employees with the right conditions to take their responsibility. You have personnel responsibility as well as responsibility for results and follow-up for the teams in your unit.

Your unit consists of 22 employees who work with sickness benefits and are located in Uppsala and Västerås. Through close leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take their responsibility and meet the need for change. You create understanding of context, direction, and the goals the department has set and develop the plans your operations need. As a unit manager, you are a support to the area manager and are part of the area's management group with 12 people: managers, HR support, controller, administrative assistant, and regional collaboration responsible. Here, you contribute with your competence and your commitment. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you who will work with us have a high security awareness.

  • have a good understanding of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's mission
  • have knowledge of sickness benefits
  • have experience of competency-based recruitment within the state.

A position, permanent, full-time, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may be relevant. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment. Possibility for remote work exists if the work allows.
