Description

The Pharmacy VGR Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) is part of the regional Pharmacy VGR and is responsible for the overall pharmaceutical work at Skaraborg Hospital.

Here, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants work. Our mission includes responsibility for drug supply, medication management, product range work, clinical pharmacy, information, and training in close collaboration with the healthcare operations. The unit is also responsible for the production of extemporaneous medicines and cytostatics for the care units. Skaraborg Hospital includes the hospitals in Skövde, Lidköping, Falköping, and Mariestad, and VGR has been operating production/preparation in-house for several years.

We need to expand our team within production in Skövde and are therefore looking for a pharmacist or pharmacy technician with preparation competence.

Job Responsibilities

As a preparation pharmacist, you will work with the extemporaneous production of cytostatics and other sterile medicines. You will undergo special training locally for the work we perform. After this, your work will consist of manufacturing life-saving and individualized medicines for patients with special needs. Your work will also involve close collaboration with healthcare personnel treating the patients and assisting care units within SkaS with information and investigation of questions primarily regarding the preparation of medicines.

In addition to preparing medicines already on the market, we also assist pharmaceutical companies in the development of new medicines in so-called clinical trials of preparation medicines.

The extemporaneous production SkaS is part of the Hospital Pharmacy VGR, which in the long term may involve opportunities for regional work in processes and other groupings.

Qualifications

You are a licensed pharmacist or licensed pharmacy technician with the competence to manufacture cytostatics and extemporaneous medicines. For licensed pharmacists, preparation competence is included in the basic education. You are meticulous, responsible, and focused on the patient. Since we work with short lead times, it is also important that you are stress-resistant, service-oriented, and flexible. The work requires good IT skills.
