Habilitation is specialized health and medical care for adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialist knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

In your role as a physiotherapist at Habilitation Borås, you will provide specialized interventions to individuals over 18 years old with congenital or early-acquired permanent disabilities that cause significant difficulties in daily life.

The specialization includes both broad and in-depth knowledge in several areas. Here you will have the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team with medical and psychosocial expertise. The catchment area for Habilitation Borås includes municipalities in Södra Älvsborg, where the position will be based in Borås. The position may also involve work at our clinic in Alingsås.

Responsibilities

The physiotherapist's responsibilities include assessing and evaluating the patient's health condition within their area of expertise, as well as treating and/or preventing the deterioration of identified health issues. This can be done through advice and support regarding health/illness, testing of assistive devices, consultation with individuals in the patient's environment, body-oriented treatment, and follow-up of patients according to national follow-up programs. All interventions are planned together with the patient. Collaboration in patient cases occurs with other medical specialties such as orthopedic technology, rehabilitation medicine, neurology, psychiatry, etc. The physiotherapist often initiates this collaboration. Collaboration also occurs with colleagues in primary care.

Interventions are provided both within the habilitation's facilities and in the environments where the patient is located, such as at home, at work/day activity, at the gym, in the pool, etc. Measures can be provided individually or in groups. Digital visits are conducted when possible.

Qualifications

You are a licensed physiotherapist. Experience, interest, and knowledge of working with our target group are advantageous. We are looking for someone who is responsible and feels comfortable working both in a team and independently. It is of great value to be flexible, solution-focused, have good collaboration skills, and the ability to structure your work. You enjoy seeing the whole person and working with complex needs. A valid driver's license is required as the job involves travel. It is also advantageous if you have several years of professional experience and are accustomed to multidisciplinary working methods. Personal suitability is highly valued.
