Nurse at the Medical Clinic in Region Kronoberg

In Region Kronoberg, we are 6,500 people working for the best of the residents of Kronoberg – every day! We are responsible for healthcare, public transport, regional development, and culture in the region. Our goal is for our employees to thrive, grow in their professional roles, and be able to influence their workday.

At the medical clinic, both people and opportunities develop. We are a clinic that continuously works to strengthen the quality of care and create a sustainable work life for our employees. By working with new methods, improvements, and innovative approaches, we create an operation that meets the needs of the future. With us, you will be part of shaping care and your own development in an environment where we create good conditions for the future.

Our department cares for patients with lung diseases and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as patients with various internal medical conditions. This means that you will meet individuals with lung cancer, COPD, respiratory failure, other lung diseases, liver diseases, and inflammatory bowel diseases. The department uses a lot of medical technology equipment, and you will receive both training and support to feel secure in your work.

Teamwork is central to us. We collaborate closely among all professional groups and are a ULVE unit with many students. Our culture is characterized by an open and supportive climate where questions are welcome, and we help each other in both simple and difficult situations. We are about 60 employees with different ages, backgrounds, and experiences, and many have worked with us for a long time, which creates security and broad competence. These colleagues are also a natural support for you as a newcomer. We handle tough events in everyday life, but it is through our community, humor, and ability to support each other that we gain our strength together. During our night shifts, we work closely with unit 3, which is located right next to us.

We are two managers who have both worked long in the unit and have previously been employees ourselves, which means we are close to the operations and work for a strong team spirit, togetherness, and good presence. Are you a nurse and find this exciting and want to be part of our unit? Welcome to us!

As a nurse in Region Kronoberg, you will have a meaningful job where your skills are valued, and where we care about you, both at work and outside of it. We offer you:

  • Secure employment with good agreements and excellent opportunities for development in your professional role.
  • Extra OB compensation for work during inconvenient hours.
  • When working on a rotating schedule, shortened working hours apply. This means you get a 4-hour reduction in working hours for each night shift, giving you more time for recovery.
  • Your health is important both for you and for those you meet in your work. With us, you receive 2,000 SEK per year in wellness benefits and access to our own training facilities.
  • Shoe allowance of 1,000 SEK per year for ergonomic work shoes.

With us, we invest in your future by annually contributing extra funds to your occupational pension, so you can feel secure in the long term.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you have the ultimate responsibility for the patients and their medical care. You monitor medical parameters, conduct patient examinations, and are responsible for medication management and other medical interventions. In your role, you will lead the team around the patient and collaborate closely with nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, and other professionals to create safe and secure care. You will participate in rounds and have ongoing dialogue with municipalities, other operations, and relatives. The work also involves participating in development work and patient safety work, where you contribute to strengthening the quality of care.

We work according to a rotating schedule and work two weekends out of five, where you can partially influence when you will work your weekend shifts. During your initial period, you will not work nights, but night work will become relevant when you are secure and independent in your tasks. Through our broad operations and varied patient groups, you will have the opportunity to develop extensive clinical competence and work with many medically complex situations.

There are great opportunities to develop within medical technology and advanced medical care, and we offer several internal training programs. As a large unit, there is also the possibility of shared service between our department and one of our outpatient clinics.

The introduction is tailored to your needs, and as a newly graduated nurse, you will receive eight weeks of introduction, where we always ensure that you feel secure before you start working independently.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, and if you have experience in hospital care, it is a plus, but even if you are newly graduated, you are warmly welcome; we will provide you with support to get into the work.

In our team, we value flexibility and the ability to adapt to different situations. The work can involve rapid changes, and therefore it is important that you are solution-focused and can think outside the box when needed.

You take responsibility for your work, are attentive, and communicate in a way that creates collaboration and security. The pace can vary, so we see that you have the ability to handle different situations constructively. A good reception is a given for us, both towards patients and colleagues. It contributes to a positive work climate and a good working environment. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
