About the role

Statkraft is one of Sweden's largest electricity producers and relies on engaged employees who want to help shape a sustainable future. At our facility in Kvistforsen, we operate a compensation fish farming where two cultivation managers currently work. Each year, approximately 100,000 salmon smolt and 24,000 sea trout smolt are produced – work that is crucial for the health of ecosystems and sustainable fish stocks in the region.

We are now looking for a fish technician for a full-time role (Specialist Fish), who will be responsible for planning, daily operations, maintenance, coordination, and development of our cultivation activities. The role is part of the environmental support team NSBE and has a central function in our production of smolt for releases in, among other places, the Skellefte River.

The role

As a Specialist Fish, you will work with the entire cultivation process for salmon and sea trout. You will:

• Plan and carry out cultivation activities such as sorting, feeding, sampling, breeding work, and ongoing documentation.
• Work with the daily care of fish and technical maintenance of facilities, pools, and associated equipment.
• Ensure good fish welfare by monitoring fish growth, behavior, and health.
• Contribute to the coordination of operations together with colleagues, contractors, and external actors.
• Participate in the development and improvement of routines, working methods, and cultivation techniques.
• Work systematically with the follow-up of safety routines – health and safety are a core principle at Statkraft.
• Be an active part of the environmental support team NSBE and contribute to relevant projects, follow-ups, and dialogues.

The work is mainly scheduled during the day and involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with others in the team. In addition, participation in weekend rounds and being on call is also included. As part of the staff, you will typically have about one weekend with rounds per month and one on-call week, which requires flexibility and responsibility to ensure the continuity of operations.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in animals, nature, and technical work.
• Has a B driver's license and completed high school education.
• Thrives with structure, routines, and meticulous documentation.
• Is curious, responsible, and has the desire to develop both yourself and the business.
• Has practical skills and naturally takes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of technical equipment.
• Is proficient in Swedish and English in both spoken and written form and has basic Office skills.

Meritorious:

• Education in biology, aquaculture, or similar,
• Experience from the blue or green industry,
• Previous work in fish farming or technical operations.
