JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a probation officer, you can contribute to a safer society. The job responsibilities include ensuring secure entry at the probation office, staffing the reception, following up on executions with electronic monitoring through home visits and workplace visits, planning and monitoring community service, and other security-related tasks.

You will work in a team with probation officers and have close collaboration with probation inspectors and administrators at the probation office.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a probation officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others, striving to deliver solutions. In the role of a probation officer, it is important that you are driven and proactive, noticing what needs to be done in the work.

It is crucial that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of individuals, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

For certain job responsibilities, laws and regulations require that these tasks be performed by a person of the same gender as the client, so we must maintain a balanced gender distribution in the group.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Completed high school education or other education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills.
• Driver's license B.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Relevant work experience in one or more areas of probation, security work, psychiatry, or care and social work.
• Experience in security control/access.
• Experience in administration.
• Experience in intensive monitoring.
• Relevant language skills.
