Do you want to make a real impact?

Here, you contribute to creating safety for people and communities. What you do matters.

Your Role

Our business, SMRA (Special Mission & Regional Aircraft) is growing, and we need to strengthen our team with engineers in the integration of avionics and mission-specific systems for GlobalEye. A product with world-leading sensors for reconnaissance and surveillance.

The operations within SMRA focus on developing and maintaining our platforms GlobalEye, Saab2000AEW&C, Saab 340 AEW, and Saab340/2000. The organization has the character of a small company within a large one, with short decision-making paths, proximity to products, and close collaboration between all technical areas. This provides a uniquely good insight and understanding of the entire product and its capabilities.

Your role as a systems engineer in the Avionics section with us means that you will dive deep into the product through tasks such as:

  • Developing design documentation for system descriptions and modifications of aircraft
  • Issuing and participating in the execution of test procedures
  • Managing requirements from customers and authorities
  • Reviewing and providing input on flight and maintenance manuals
  • Qualifying devices for airworthiness
  • Collaborating with flight testing
  • Certification of the final product
  • Working closely with Procurement towards both national and international suppliers

The work is carried out in close collaboration with adjacent technical areas and organizations. You are part of large platform projects as well as part of support for the aftermarket and maintenance of delivered systems. You will also have some international contacts through both digital and physical meetings, with, for example, system and aircraft suppliers. Travel may be required.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with experience in:

  • System integration with a focus on hardware, preferably in navigation.
  • A strong interest in problem-solving and technology, with a technical education or equivalent experience.
  • Previous knowledge and experience in system development work, technical leadership, and/or project work is highly meritorious.
  • Experience in the aviation industry is highly meritorious.
  • We are looking for both recent graduates and senior candidates with at least a three-year university degree in fields such as aerospace engineering, engineering physics, system development, or other relevant technical areas.

A well-functioning team consists of different personalities, experiences, and competencies where collaboration is key. Therefore, great emphasis is placed on your personality and ability to collaborate. We are looking for someone who is humble, attentive, and appreciates close collaboration. You have the ability to build relationships and contribute to the team's success through your knowledge and flexibility. You thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration and networking are in focus, and where communication is simple and direct.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.

Please note that we work with ongoing selection, and the position may be filled before the application deadline has expired.
