Police Inspector - Community Police
Police Region South is organized into five police areas: Blekinge, northeastern Skåne, Kalmar Kronoberg, Malmö, northwestern Skåne, and southern Skåne, which together are divided into 20 local police areas. Furthermore, there are six regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, the investigation unit, and the border police unit, operational HR South, communication South, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
The Kalmar Kronoberg police area is one of the police areas within Region South and is headquartered in Kalmar. The Kalmar Kronoberg police area is divided into five local police areas: Västervik, Kalmar, Nybro, Växjö, and Ljungby. Within the police area, there is also an investigation section, an investigative jury section, and a local office.
The Nybro local police area is part of the Kalmar Kronoberg police area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a community police officer, your main task is to drive and represent the Police Authority in crime prevention and safety-enhancing work in collaboration with Lessebo Municipality and the wider community. The community police officer acts as a means to ensure that the Police Authority can locally respond to commitments made in collaboration agreements and in citizen promises made between the municipality and the local police area manager, thereby creating conditions for the police to strengthen local presence.
You may participate operationally in various assignments, but your main task is the strategic work. Furthermore, you should be part of the preparation work for the permit matters that fall under the local police area. As a community police officer, you will be part of the local police area's management team. You are expected to take an active role in driving the development of the operation forward together with your colleagues in the management team. The assignment includes adapting working methods to the local situational assessments present in the local police area.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Swedish police degree, in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1104)
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Good knowledge of local crime prevention and safety-enhancing work as assessed relevant by the employer
It is advantageous if you also have experience in:
- Working as a district police officer
- Collaboration with municipalities and local communities
- Various police assignments within the Police Authority
- Relevant change and development work
- Long-term planning of strategic police work
- Operational management within the authority
- Staff work or police projects
Personal Qualities
You should be able to independently make decisions within the framework of the delegation and take responsibility for and develop your own operations in relation to the whole. You can also develop working methods to carry out the work and you have a developed problem-solving ability. You should have an inclination and willingness to solve societal problems together with other employees and community actors. You have a high social competence, which allows you to create and maintain networks and have the ability to collaborate with both internal and external actors. You have good communication skills and feel comfortable presenting material to a group and being a representative of the local police area in the media. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
