Our Operations
We treat patients with various blood diseases. The Hematology Clinic consists of four parts; Hematological day care including a unit at Gränby center for patients in need of chemotherapy, blood transfusions, antibiotics, and blood draws; BMT clinic that investigates and follows up patients and donors in connection with blood stem cell transplantation and a Doctor's Clinic. We who staff the clinic are four nursing assistants and sixteen nurses together with several doctors.
We receive and treat patients from the entire Central Swedish region (Uppsala, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Hälsingland, Södermanland, Värmland, Västmanland, and Örebro counties). With us, you will become part of an operation that is constantly developing, and where we have close collaboration between our various professional groups. The work is varied with both patient contact and administrative tasks. You will be part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other while you will also work independently to a large extent.
Your Mission
Working as a nursing assistant at the Hematology Clinic is an exciting job where you get to meet people in many different situations and ages. We care a lot about the approach and being available for our patients.
This is a new position with us where you will be part of a team with nurses and doctors at our Transplantation/BMT clinic where we investigate all adult patients and donors relevant for blood stem cell transplantation. The work will be very independent which requires a great ability to take initiative as well as the ability to keep many balls in the air at the same time. You will collaborate both within the hospital and with operations in other regions. Your tasks will include taking peripheral blood samples, EKG, assisting and handling bone marrow samples, as well as a lot of coordination and other administration. You are expected to independently plan and execute parts of the team's tasks at our “BMT clinic”.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and has worked in the profession for at least three years. You have healthcare experience, preferably from both inpatient and outpatient care with good knowledge of peripheral sampling, EKG, and the ability to assist in bone marrow sampling together with doctors. You need to have good computer skills and solid experience of working independently in Cosmic. You will work in the scheduling system in Cosmic and plan, coordinate, and book patients who are to undergo or have undergone a blood stem cell transplantation. You will also have a lot of contact with patients in the process when they are to undergo/have undergone a stem cell transplantation.
Your Competence
It is important to us that you enjoy working with people and that you are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good working environment. The work places high demands on your ability to work independently and be flexible in a changing pace. If you feel that you have this combined with curiosity and attention to detail, you may be right for us and we for you!
We Offer
We offer a permanent position with start and salary according to agreement. The work at the clinic is during the day, Monday to Friday. With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
