Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a chef, you will primarily prepare meals for the inmates at the prison and remand center, but also to some extent for the staff. The tasks include all activities typical of a large kitchen, such as planning, purchasing, and preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your responsibilities also include cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation. Preparation of diet food and other special diets is also part of the job. The work is carried out in collaboration with staff in other functions.

The kitchen team consists of 10 chefs and one kitchen manager. Together, they prepare meals for approximately 430 inmates and 100 staff lunches daily.

Start date is desired on 2026-06-01 for local introduction.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• A restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or equivalent education combined with experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in a large kitchen
• Experience working with self-control
• Experience working with special diets
