The Rescue Mission is a non-profit organization that has been conducting social work since the early 1950s through around 30 different operations throughout Gothenburg. Our work is based on a Christian value foundation that cares for humanity. We dream of a city where no one is left behind and where all people can live a dignified life.

We are now recruiting summer substitutes and are looking for you who want to work as a treatment assistant at Boende Vasa this summer, together with us towards our vision; a dignified life for all!

The work involves identifying and utilizing our clients' strengths and supporting them in finding motivation for lasting change in their lives. We support clients in breaking old patterns and offer assistance in various life situations.

The assignment includes accompanying clients to meetings, collaborating and maintaining contact with healthcare and social services, as well as providing practical support in everyday life through, for example, laundry, cleaning, and cooking.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who believes in every person's right to a dignified life and who wants to work for a more humane society. You are engaged, self-driven, and skilled at supporting and motivating the residents. You are attentive, communicative, and have good collaboration skills, which makes it easy for you to build relationships with both clients and colleagues. Through your low-arousal approach, you prevent threatening and violent situations and maintain calm in stressful situations. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a safe living environment where everyone feels seen and receives the support they need.

We want you to:

• Be studying social work or have education as a social pedagogue or equivalent as assessed by the employer.

• And/or have experience working with dual diagnosis issues, addiction, and mental health problems.

• Have training or experience working based on the low-arousal approach.

• Be comfortable with working alone.

• Have a B driver's license.

• Have a good ability to express and formulate yourself in Swedish in speech and writing, as well as documentation experience.

• Have a great interest in our target group.

• Have read and share the Rescue Mission's value foundation and the willingness to follow the code of conduct.

Employment conditions

Employment type: Summer substitute Employment: 4 weeks and preferably 6-8 weeks Working hours: Three shifts Day 8:00-16:30, Evening 11:30-22:00, and Night 16:00-08:30 including sleeping on-call 23:00-07:00 Collective agreement: We are affiliated with the employer organization Fremia and apply Vision's collective agreement “Health, care, and other care”.
