Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. The Vänersborg area consists of two prisons in Vänersborg and a detention center in Uddevalla. Östragård Prison is an open prison with space for 192 clients. Brinkeberg Prison is a closed prison with space for 144 clients, and Uddevalla Detention Center has 57 places. We are a content-rich organization, and we employ correctional officers, administrators, nurses, chefs, teachers, production leaders, managers, and more. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for summer substitutes for our large kitchens at Östragård and Brinkeberg prisons. You will be part of a team together with the kitchen manager and kitchen assistants. The job responsibilities consist of common tasks in large kitchens such as planning, preparing, and cooking lunch and dinner for the inmates. Preparation of special diets and other specific meals is included. Cleaning of kitchen premises, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation are part of the job. Collaboration with staff in other functions is a natural part of the work. Simple administration, purchasing, and receiving goods may occur. Staff have a scheduled roster where weekend work is included. In the role of chef at Östragård, you will also mentor clients working in the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by Kriminalvården
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working in large kitchens
• Experience working with self-control
• Experience working with special diets
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license (B)
