Summer Job as Kitchen Assistant at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transport.

The Vänersborg area consists of two prisons in Vänersborg and a remand center in Uddevalla. Östragård Prison is an open prison with space for 192 clients. Brinkeberg Prison is a closed prison with space for 144, and the remand center in Uddevalla has 57 places. Production kitchens currently exist at Östragård Prison and at the Uddevalla remand center. JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for summer substitutes for our Brinkeberg and Östragård prisons. As a kitchen assistant with us, you will be part of a work team with a kitchen manager and chefs. In the production kitchens, you will work with various tasks such as salad preparation, some cooking, receiving goods, transporting meals, packing ingredients for breakfast and dinner, performing self-control in accordance with applicable legislation, cleaning, and dishwashing. The work is done in collaboration with staff in other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You are calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Restaurant or catering education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Driver's license (B)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in a large kitchen/restaurant
