Your responsibilities include:

  • Participating in, leading, and coordinating the daily work in the department.
  • Being responsible for the introduction and orientation program for new employees.
  • On behalf of the department head and MLA (medically responsible physician), leading selected parts of the department's change and development work.

  • Conducting and following up internal investigations together with the department head and MLA.

About the Workplace

Ward 23 is part of adult psychiatry's inpatient care in Varberg, focusing on psychosis care. We offer a total of 12 beds for patients with schizophrenia and similar conditions. Of these 12 beds, we can accommodate 6 forensic psychiatric patients. Therefore, we collaborate with wards 20 and 21, which are Halland's forensic psychiatric wards. In addition to the close cooperation we have with the clinic's departments, we also have a close collaboration with the adult psychiatric reception (VPM) in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Falkenberg to strengthen the care chain, provide better conditions for patients upon discharge, and reduce the risk of psychosis relapse.

Our overarching goal is to assess and treat acute psychiatric conditions in a safe and secure manner, using person-centered care and a good approach. We actively work on development projects, including through Safewards, which are evidence-based interventions to promote social cohesion, improve communication, and support patients in difficult situations.

We have an open climate and value reflection and supervision. Each work shift ends with reflection time, and we offer nursing supervision in groups. Here, we work closely with social services and other healthcare neighbors.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse, nursing assistant, or someone with other education in health and medical care that the employer deems relevant for the position. You have experience working in psychiatry and are used to working in a team. We consider it an advantage if you also have experience in other acute care (e.g., emergency department, intensive care). Specialist training in psychiatry is not a requirement but is highly meritorious.

You should have experience leading other employees and the ability to inspire and drive change processes. As a person, you are calm, stable, and secure in yourself. You are creative and driven to find solutions to problems while standing up for decisions made and ensuring they are followed. You are structured, clear in your communication, and consider the best interests of the entire organization in your actions and decisions. To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, patients, and other contacts, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

Warm welcome with your application!
