The Child Authority dares and can meet vulnerable children. We always start from the Convention on the Rights of the Child with the child's needs and participation in focus and handle child welfare cases with high quality and efficiency. We are a work group consisting of 22 social workers, 1 administrator, 3 team leaders, and 1 unit manager who, in the midst of an important and responsible mission, care about a good work environment and that there should also be room for joy and community at work.

We have transformed the operations within Children and Youth to support the approach of Signs of Safety. As an employee, you are our most important resource, which is why we constantly work to develop methods and tools so that together we can reach our challenging goals and fulfill our mission. As a newly hired employee, you will be offered an introduction to the operations where you will get an overview of the area and tasks. You will also have daily and close support in your work through present team leaders, and as an employee, you will participate in external group supervision. Each year, you will also be covered by a strategic training plan including basic further education and advanced training based on the goals and resources of the operations as well as the individual needs of the employees.

Your tasks

Your main tasks involve conducting investigations according to Chapter 14, Section 2 of the Social Services Act and following up on interventions for children aged 0-11 and their families. We work as far as possible with voluntariness and consent to interventions, but in some cases, we are required to handle cases with the support of LVU (the Act on Special Provisions on the Care of Young People).

You work based on the values and approaches of Södertälje Municipality and possess a broad knowledge of the social services' authority and interventions. Requirements:
- Degree in social work
- Good computer skills (e.g., Office package)
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Driving license B

- Experience in meeting people in difficult life situations
- Experience in working with authority
- Education & experience in Signs of Safety

Working hours are scheduled during office hours 8-17, but evenings and weekends may occur.
