We are now looking for 2 environmental inspectors for the Environmental and Building Authority. Our unit consists of 12 employees, of which 6 work in the environmental and health protection area. We are located in the Skurup municipal building and work on-site in offices with 1-2 people. We apply a smoke-free working time policy and offer flexible hours and wellness benefits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an environmental inspector with us, you will have a varied and developing job within several of the most central areas of environmental and health protection. Each position includes 2-3 different areas shared with a colleague. Your interests and competencies will determine which areas are relevant for each position. You will be part of a small workgroup where collaboration and participation are natural parts of everyday life. Your work will involve handling incoming cases such as various types of applications and complaints, as well as planning and conducting inspections. You will make your own decisions by delegation, draft service documents and decision materials, and provide information, guidance, and advice to entrepreneurs and the public. As a case officer, you will manage your own cases.

Areas relevant for the positions include:

• Environmentally hazardous activities including waste and materials
• Individual sewage systems
• Food control including alcohol or tobacco supervision
• Health protection including infection control

You will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. You will have significant influence over your work and the opportunity to develop routines and methods. You will drive your cases efficiently from start to finish.

QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant university degree in environmental and health protection or equivalent natural science education, or in the food area.

Driver's license (B).

You have good computer skills and are proficient in the Office suite.

You have a strong ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Experience in supervision within the legislative areas and familiarity with the case management system Ecos is an advantage.
