About the position

The Intensive Care Unit is a specialized emergency department connected to the Karolinska University Hospital's highly specialized care mission. This means that only patients in need of our resources according to the highly specialized mission are received. This includes patients undergoing active treatment, where cancer is the most common diagnosis, accepted referrals, and emergency care for certain specific patient groups that require our specific expertise, such as trauma, decompression sickness, and carbon monoxide poisoning requiring hyperbaric treatment and ECMO care.

As a nurse with us, you will work with the care and management of acutely ill patients. We work in teams consisting of nursing assistants and nurses in close collaboration with doctors, and together we take responsibility for the initial acute management of severely ill or injured patients.

You will join a unit where we offer varied tasks and pace throughout the day. With us, we are engaged, competent, and place great value on you becoming a secure colleague in the team. We learn from each other by sharing knowledge and experiences.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed nurse
  • At least 2 years of experience as a nurse
  • Experience with patients with significant medical and care needs

Meritorious:

  • Previous work in an emergency department.
