Job Responsibilities

The position is divided into 50% school nurse and 50% medically responsible nurse.

The position is a temporary contract for approximately one year.

You will be part of the student health team and play an important role in student health together with other professionals within the school. As a school nurse, you are a vital part of the school's student health work with your medical expertise. You will drive the preventive and health-promoting work. You will offer and perform health checks and vaccinations according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines for school health care and ensure that the Infection Protection Act and local guidelines are followed.

As MLA, you have a strategic and operational responsibility to lead and ensure the quality of the student health's medical efforts (EMI). Your main tasks are to:

• Ensure quality and patient safety, including incident management and Lex Maria reports.
• Develop and follow up on patient safety reports, operational plans, and methodology books.
• Be responsible for procedures regarding medication management, referral flows, and record-keeping according to applicable laws.
• Assess the need for medical technical equipment and manage delegations of general medication prescriptions.
• Introduce newly hired school nurses and school doctors and provide support in medical matters.
• Be available for medical questions from the principal and provide support in complex cases.
• Collaborate with external actors in medical matters.
• Participate in regional and national networks for medically responsible personnel and contribute to the development of EMI.

The work involves close collaboration with students, guardians, school staff, as well as organizations and authorities outside the school. You will be part of the student health team together with school counselors, special educators, psychologists, and career counselors, with the work being led locally by the principal. You will work with some support from other school units in the area in collaboration with a colleague.

Qualifications

For these positions, we are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist nursing education in child and adolescent health, district nursing, or school nursing.

If you have experience working as a school nurse and/or medically responsible nurse, we consider this an asset.

We are looking for someone who is engaged and enjoys working with children and adolescents. You take initiative, work independently, and have excellent collaboration skills. You are a responsible person with the ability to build good relationships with guardians and colleagues and have a strong commitment to working with children and adolescents. You are meticulous, structured, and can organize your work independently.

You need to have a valid B driver's license and access to your own car.
