Do you want to work in a home care service where the care recipient is always at the center and where your professional judgment is valued? Home Care Halvorstorp & Sandhem in Trollhättan Municipality is now seeking four care assistants who want to help create safe, cohesive, and quality care in ordinary housing.

We operate according to Trollhättan's home care model and with trust-based management, which means we focus on the care recipient's needs, work with continuity, and give our employees trust and room for action in their professional roles.

About the Workplace

Home Care Halvorstorp & Sandhem is part of Trollhättan Municipality and operates based on the city's values: trust, quality, respect, and participation. Our care recipients are of all ages, and the work is carried out in their homes. Many homes have pets, which means you need to be comfortable in such environments. Work is done using automatic and manual vehicles as well as bicycles, depending on the area and assignment. Digital tools are used as a natural part of planning, documentation, and follow-up.

Job Responsibilities

As a care assistant, you will work with person-centered care and service efforts in the care recipient's home. A central part of the role is serving as a designated care contact, which is mandated by the Social Services Act. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, continuity, coordination, and follow-up of services as well as documentation in digital systems. The work is done in close collaboration with colleagues and licensed personnel.

Approach to Dementia and Palliative Care

We meet care recipients with dementia or cognitive impairment and work with calm, clear communication and adjustments based on individual needs and daily conditions. In palliative care at the end of life, we operate according to national guidelines focusing on relief, dignity, presence, and collaboration with licensed personnel.

Delegations

As a care assistant, you are expected, after training and approved delegation, to perform health and medical care tasks as required by the operation. Examples include blood sampling, blood pressure measurement, medication management, insulin management, dialysis, PEG and tube management, basic and advanced wound care, and bandaging of legs. These tasks are assigned based on competence and are continuously followed up.

Requirements

  • Trained care assistant with a protected professional title
  • Several years of work experience as a care assistant
  • Interest in and experience with the role of designated care contact
  • The work involves ongoing documentation, which requires good computer skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Motivation and confidence in working with delegated health and medical care tasks
  • Driver's license and ability to cycle

Meritorious

  • Work experience in home care
  • KY/YH education in: dementia, palliative care, and/or digitalization

Employment Information

  • The recruitment concerns four positions, one with immediate start and three starting in April - May.
  • Working hours include days, evenings, and weekends.
  • To be employed as a care assistant, you need to present a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or verify that you currently have a permanent position as a care assistant.
  • You must also be able to present a valid extract from the criminal record.
