You are welcome to work with us at Vårdcentralen Nygatan in a team where we manage primary care assignments while also developing the future of primary care.

Our Offer

Primary Care Center Östergötland consists of 33 region-operated health centers, Vårdcentrum Finspång, Child Health Care Unit, 1177 and emergency centers in the evenings and weekends, and the General Medicine Training Center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we provide care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

We are a forward-looking organization with a strong focus on a good working environment, development, and good health. We actively work to create conditions for sustainable work life while having a development-inspired approach to meet future challenges in primary care. With us, there are good development opportunities for those who want to advance in their profession, become a manager, or proceed in other ways, such as specialization or research.

Region Östergötland's ST training in general medicine is organized by the General Medicine Training Center (AMC), where study directors and training secretaries coordinate side trainings, arrange courses and training, and participate in the design of the ST doctor's training plan. Region Östergötland also has a specialist-wide ST office, which arranges ST training for all specialties, read more about the ST office (click the link).

Vårdcentralen Nygatan is located in central Linköping, close to everything the city center has to offer. The health center is one of 33 region-operated health centers in the Primary Care Center and has approximately 10,700 registered patients across a wide age distribution. In addition to the medical clinic and child health center, the health center has a number of specialist nurse clinics, counseling clinics with various competencies, rehabilitation coordinators, and dietitians. We generally have good staffing and a good working climate and currently employ about 42 staff members. We work together for a professional care of our patients within the primary care assignment. In December 2026, the health center will move to entirely new premises. These premises will offer opportunities for developed methods and working practices and promote enhanced collaboration between professional groups as well as good flows. There we will develop a new modern workplace that meets tomorrow's demands for good patient care and a healthy and sustainable work life.
